Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights law passed in 1990 that protects people with disabilities from discrimination. It requires public spaces – including venues, festivals, and events – to provide equal access. That includes communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people provided by qualified Sign-Language Interpreters. Accessibility isn’t just “nice to have” – it is the law.
